Fully vaccinated people can likely avoid tests and quarantine in the coming days. – MacroTraveller

Those who have received both the doses of Covid-19 vaccine doses can likely avoid Covid tests and quarantine requirements during inter-state travel in the coming days. The national expert group on vaccine administration for Covid-19 (NEGVAC) and the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation in India (NTAGI) recommended the same during a recent meeting with the Health Minister.

Referring to this, Dr N K Arora, who was the part of the meeting stated that recommendations are also extended for those who are travelling outside the country also. Dr Arora also said that there is no need to self-quarantine after domestic trips or undergo tests before or after travel. Fully vaccinated people can also avoid testing before leaving India for International trips unless the test is required for the destination country and those who are fully vaccinated do not need to self-quarantine after their return to India.

Additionally, Dr Arora also said that fully vaccinated travellers, who had earlier contracted the virus, and have later recovered and are asymptomatic can also avoid tests while travelling within the country.

The official elaborated that ‘Fully vaccinated’ means those who have passed 2 weeks after taking the 2nd dose of vaccination.
