Now that our DraftKings Showdown lineup is ready for Steelers vs. Ravens, it seems only fitting that the game would be moved again. The three reschedulings have already meant that Mark Ingram and JK Dobbins have become eligible to play, changing our original plan to ride Gus Edwards to DFS glory. If the game does indeed kick off Wednesday afternoon to end Week 12, we’re fading the running games entirely.
Instead, we’re making the bold call to trust Robert Griffin III as our captain with Lamar Jackson (COVID) out. It’s risky, but it’s the type of chance that could be worth taking thanks to RG3’s running ability. We’ve also faded Ben Roethlisberger, but we have his big pass catchers, so that shouldn’t be a worry.

DraftKings Showdown Picks: Steelers vs. Ravens
Captain (1.5x price, 1.5x points): Robert Griffin III, Ravens @ Steelers ($12,600)
There are plenty of ways this backfires, yes. RG3 is working without a full complement of weapons against a strong defense. But rushing quarterbacks will usually be priced higher than this, and the last time Griffin started, he ran for 50 yards against Pittsburgh in Week 17 of 2019. That’s not a perfect comparison, but it shows RG3 has an underratedly decent floor and higher ceiling in a near must-win game for Baltimore.
FLEX: WR Diontae Johnson, Steelers ($10,800)
It feels like a long time ago now, but Johnson is coming off a 12-catch, 111-yard performance that was preceded by 112 yards the week before. Big Ben is trusting Johnson to make plays over the middle, and we can trust him, too.
FLEX: WR Chase Claypool, Steelers ($10,400)
Claypool is the big target, the touchdown weapon for Pittsburgh. Johnson and JuJu Smith-Schuster will get the ball moved down the field before Claypool finishes drives off. The creative ways the Steelers use Claypool in the red zone make him hard to fade.
FLEX: WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, Steelers ($9,600)
In the interest of saving a bit of cap space, Smith-Schuster comes into our lineup instead of Roethlisberger. This lineup construction probably ensures that Eric Ebron will have a big game, but it should be a relatively rare arrangement to have all three Pittsburgh receivers. If the Steelers have a good day through the air, our lineup should perform well.
FLEX: WR Dez Bryant, Ravens ($4,800)
With it looking like the Ravens will be missing at least Willie Snead and Mark Andrews, the big-bodied Bryant takes on increased importance to move the sticks and find the end zone. It feels a bit odd, but we’re hoping on a flashback game for both Bryant and RG3 together.
FLEX: WR Miles Boykin, Ravens ($1,800)
The last time Baltimore played, Snead had 48 snaps and Bryant had 35. Boykin was on the field for 15 plays. If things get passed on as we’d hope, Boykin will see double the workload. He’s not a high-volume receiver, but things will be different with Griffin, and maybe that means a few targets for our value play.
