Missed kick, or a slider down and away?
There are more exciting things in football than missed field goals, but the Raiders’ attempt vs. the Browns on Sunday was a sight to see: The boot off the foot of Daniel Carlson looked true, but the Cleveland wind took it way left, with the kick doinking off the left upright.
The snap was good, the hold was good, the wind was not. Radar around Cleveland forecasts there could be gusts in the area up to 33 mph, coupled with rain and snow, potentially. Perfect football weather, as Mother Nature would dictate.
Browns kicker Cody Parkey didn’t have an issue with the weather early, nailing a field goal of his own shortly after the Raiders miss.
Twitter folk noticed the unique nature of the missed field goal and cracked some jokes:
That Raiders kick looking like one of my golf shots 💨
