NFL Week 9 Weather Updates: Rain, wind could affect fantasy start ’em, sit ’em decisions

Last week was a rough one for NFL weather watchers, as high winds and rain wreaked havoc on several games across the league and caused some fantasy start ’em, sit ’em drama on Sunday morning. The Week 9 NFL weather forecast isn’t nearly as scary, as only a handful of games figure to see even semi-worrisome conditions.

Before we get into the Week 9 forecasts, here’s a reminder that if you have any questions about sports weather or how weather could impact play (and, potentially, your fantasy, DFS, and gambling decisions), don’t hesitate to reach out to Rotogrinders’ meteorologist Kevin Roth on Twitter (@KevinRothWx) or check out the hourly NFL weather forecasts on RotoGrinders. NFL Week 9 weather updates

Forecasts courtesy for Kevin Roth at RotoGrinders.

Panthers @ Chiefs. Winds will be around 15 mph, perhaps a bit over. That likely won’t affect either offense much, though some deep passes and kicks could be slightly altered. We still wouldn’t advise benching any regular starters from either team.

Texans @ Jaguars. Winds will be around 10-15 mph, and there’s a chance for showers. Overall, it shouldn’t be anything too worrisome, but given the shakiness of the Jaguars passing game, it might be enough to cause you to bench some of Jacksonville’s WRs.

Saints @ Buccaneers. Winds could gust to 20 mph while sitting in the 15-mph range most of the game. As with Kansas City, this could impact some deep throws and kicks, but it’s not enough to bench any of the high-powered passing-game options on either team.
