TX Gov. Greg Abbott Shows More Red State Power, Joins Ron DeSantis In Fight Against Vaccine Passports

Yesterday we reported how Gov. Greg Abbott was making the right moves in regard to the Major League Baseball and their position on the Georgia election law, that red states need to start banding together, that’s the only way you stop the false narratives Democrats are pushing over, from taking over.

Now Abbott’s taken another step in that regard, joining with Gov. Ron DeSantis, in banning government-mandated vaccine passports in Texas, declaring that such a system would infringe on people’s rights.

From The Hill:

“Every day, Texans are returning to normal life as more people get the safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine. But, as I’ve said all along, these vaccines are always voluntary and never forced,” Abbott said in announcing the executive order.

“Government should not require any Texan to show proof of vaccination and reveal private health information just to go about their daily lives,” he added. “That is why I have issued an executive order that prohibits government-mandated vaccine passports in Texas. We will continue to vaccinate more Texans and protect public health — and we will do so without treading on Texans’ personal freedoms.”

DeSantis made similar remarks, about how they wanted to make vaccination available for all but didn’t want to be mandating vaccination to get into places. He said it was “completely unacceptable for either the government or the private sector to impose upon you the requirement that you show proof of vaccine to just simply participate in normal society.” DeSantis was more explicit about including the private sector in his remarks/ban. He also said it would create two classes of people, something the WHO also warned about, the people who could get the vaccine and those who might not be able to.

With Florida and Texas leading the way, that makes it much less likely that people/governments/companies will sign aboard such an idea. That’s how you stop the imposition, and send a powerful message to the federal government or companies that would sign onboard with such an idea. Dr. Anthony Fauci said last week that he thought that the federal government would not take the lead in such an effort. Of course that doesn’t rule out then they’d push private companies just as they are doing now with election laws.

Texas dropped all of its virus restrictions and mask mandated almost a full month ago. As we reported, the huge surge that Democrats claimed would result from what Joe Biden called “Neanderthal thinking” didn’t happen and still hasn’t happened yet. But just give it two more weeks, I’m sure it will then.
