Something is in the air and it feels like FINALLY pushing back on the idiocy that is #CancelCulture and I’m liking it.
As most of you know by now, yesterday Major League Baseball wet itself when it announced that it was pulling the All-Star game out of Georgia because of the new election reform law in Georgia. The reform that they have the most problem with is making sure that if you have a ballot to vote then you must prove with a valid I.D. that you are the person who is voting with that ballot.
The fricking nerve.
Well, Governor Brain Kemp who is still Governor even though Stacey Abrams has not yet conceded that she lost their 2018 contest, decided to hold a press conference today and he is not backing down one bit. In fact, he sounds a bit spicey. Here is what he opened with.
Yesterday Major League Baseball caved to fear and lies from liberal activists, they ignored the facts of our new election integrity law and they ignored the consequences of their decision on our local community. In the middle of a pandemic, Major League Baseball put the wishes of Stacey Abrams and Joe Biden ahead of the economic well-being of hard-working Georgians who were counting on the All-Star game for a paycheck. Georgians and all Americans should know what this decision means, it means cancel culture and partisan activists are coming for your business and your game or event in your hometown. There are coming to cancel your sports and how you make a living and they will stop at nothing to silence all of us.
This is exactly the response needed. My only mild criticism of the Gov and GA-GOP would be they should have started nuking Stacey and her band of misfits the minute she appeared on some show spewing stupidity last week and not have waited for MLB to do this knee jerk move.
However, I LOVE the fact that Abrams is getting her due in criticism on this. Stacey lost the 2018 election Gubernatorial election and has pouted ever since. I know people say the same thing about Donald Trump but the difference is, Trump conceded. Stacey had made a career of losing an election and throwing a two-year temper tantrum about it and she’s now an expert at stuff.
What she is really an expert at is getting the people of Georgia screwed by all that revenue that the All-Star game would have brought Atlanta and Georgia. I’m pretty sure she won’t be doing any nonconcession non-victory laps on that though.
Earlier on Fox & Friends Gov Kemp said this before his press conference earlier this afternoon, From Fox News…
“None of them are citing specifics in the bill. If you’ll notice, they’re just saying, you know, ‘This is a step backwards.’ Or, you know, ‘This is wrong.’ Or whatever,” he added. “Like none of them are pointing to specifics in the bill because they know damn well their people were in the Capitol working with us on the bill. They knew what was in it and now their position has changed.”
Kemp said he agreed with former President Donald Trump, who said in a Friday statement that MLB’s leadership was “afraid of the Radical Left Democrats.”
NO ONE is pointing to specifics in the bill because no one that is complaining has read it. The other aspect to all of this nonsense about corporations having their heads up their arses was covered earlier by my colleague Nick Arama in this piece CBS News Gets Blasted for Advocating How ‘Companies Can Help Fight Georgia’s Restrictive New Voting Law‘.
This is about as #Woke as one can get led by a bunch of people that are in a perpetual feeling of angst and somehow we all have to take the brunt of it in all aspects of our lives.
Kemp also brought up a great point in the presser about what happens if the Braves make the playoffs this year…
If the Braves make the playoffs are they gonna move the damn playoff game?
Why stop there? Why not just make the Braves move out of Georgia and to either New York or California where all the #woke dopes flock too with the rest of their angsty selves. There is nothing too big for these self aggrieved nincompoops to try and force down our throats. I’m not gonna go along with it though and neither is the State of Georgia by the look of things.
I’m hoping these Walking Dead imitators have finally pushed the envelope too far and they are finally getting pushed back. I know they won’t like it one bit.
