Meet Tiffany Xingyu Wang, the co-founder of the OASIS Consortium, an advocacy and standards group backing a safer and kinder internet. Together with her team, the group is on a mission to create a global standard for how consumers can interact online safely with their brands. In addition to her efforts with OASIS, Wang has deep experience building communities and trading commodities globally. She has been featured on numerous international television programs.
The OASIS Consortium represents Openness Accountability Security Innovation Sustainability. Under this umbrella, they have three pillars: privacy by design, safety by design, plus diversity, equity and inclusion by design.

OASIS was launched in the summer of 2020 in response to the increasing vitriol online as “trolls,” hiding behind their anonymity, spew hate speech and language that is affecting the mental health of consumers. As the lines between social, dating, gaming and educational platforms become more blurred, the future of the internet is at stake. Without a watchdog organization like OASIS, that future is in peril.
Wang and her team are currently drafting a standard and seeking input from those who work for the Big Tech platforms and want to lend their insights into a set of guidelines that could work for emerging brands as well as established ones. Her mentor said that, “Life is not a marathon – it is a triathlon,” a fitting musing given the different career paths that Wang has pursued. “A founder’s journey is lonely and you will have ups and downs,” she said, “You need a community around you to give you insights and to support you.”
Her advice for the next generation of women in tech? She encourages everyone to ask themselves one, simple question.
Would you regret it if you didn’t do it?
